The Opportunity

At the end of the year, each employee at Ingage is given a bucket of money and there is only one rule - you have to give it away!In the early days of Ingage, the employee contribution bonus program was organized via spreadsheets and hand-written checks. After years of this, and many more employees, someone asked the not-so-obvious question “We’re an IT company - shouldn’t we automate this program and start a website?” And so, Contributr was born!

The Project

After a few years of a very basic design, it was time for an upgrade! Ingagers from the design and development practice areas collaborated and gathered feedback from previous users of the old system to make improvements and create the new Contributr program. Google integration was used to include employee profile pictures, and the app tracks each person that receives the bonus and calculates the running total so users are aware of how much they have left.

The Results

The upgrades also allow for employees to build a “crew” of people to receive gifts, and edit/move the gifts around. Secondly, the app serves as a continuous learning project for developers and designers that are between client opportunities, giving them a chance to up-skill and work on something different from their usual client work. It’s the program that keeps on giving - literally!
