Case Studies
This major grocer struggled with enabling partner integration. They were using a homegrown OAuth provider. It was cumbersome and time intensive for partners to set up an account and gain access to credentials to access services needed for crucial app development. Manual requests, calls, and requests to the help desk were starting to overwhelm the team and limit business innovation.
Ingage Partners engaged several full-stack developers and a scrum master to engage in this effort. The team worked to create an abstraction layer and proxy, and standardize authorization to OAuth2.0. The team collaborated to deliver front-end and back-end services, including Identity services, an API Gateway, and an API Management Platform. This team delivered administrative capabilities for external partners, enabling strategic partners to submit their APIs. Online API documentation further supports partner self-service on the platform.
At a high level, this work enables this major grocer to evolve into a technology company. At a detailed level, it is helping to resolve failure rates of 3rd party apps. This allows this grocer to quickly test and enable new strategic partnerships, a huge business advantage enabling the grocer to pivot and innovate faster than ever before. What started out as a handful of partners has expanded to more than 300 external partners, including 35+ strategic partnerships. The team quickly exceeded the annual goal in 2 months' time after launch, a huge success.
